So the White House is in for quite a rough time this year with two movies centred around its attack. We've seen the trailer for Olympus Has Fallen, and now heres a look at Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx starring White House Down.
The two movies join a sizeable list of similar movies Hollywood has released in the same year or months apart. Most blatant for me are Armageddon/Deep Impact, Mission To Mars/Red Planet, Antz/A Bug's Tale, Volcano/Dante's Peak, Tombstone/Wyatt Earp; and more recently, Killers/Knight And Day, and No strings Attached/Friends With Benefits. You can check out more here.
In Columbia Pictures' White House Down, Capitol Policeman John Cale (Channing Tatum) has just been denied his dream job with the Secret Service of protecting President James Sawyer (Jamie Foxx). Not wanting to let down his little girl with the news, he takes her on a tour of the White House, when the complex is overtaken by a heavily armed paramilitary group. Now, with the nation’s government falling into chaos and time running out, it's up to Cale to save the president, his daughter, and the country.
White House Down also stars Joey King and Maggie Gyllenhaal; and will be released June 28.
