Dubbed as “a young Usher” by the UK’s number 1 urban youth channel SBTV after seeing his recent releases “Hard Headed” and “Dreams”: Kane has found himself in high demand and the demand looks set to increase as he releases brand new video “Raindrops” via VEVO.  

…And it’s not just the websites and music blogs that are hot on the R&B singer’s heels. DJ's have also picked up on the talents of the 18 year old after 'Raindrops' premiered on BBC 1Xtra with DJ DubL as his ‘Bubblin’ Under’ track; they immediately took to Twitter to request the track from Kane. So much so that Kane was also snapped up and added to the line-up for DJ Cameo’s Summer Love Beach Festival in Ayia Napa, seeing him perform alongside some of the heavyweights of UK music: Tinie Tempah, Angel, Dot Rotten & G FrSH.  

At 18 years old, Kane already has quite a collection of music and achievements in his catalogue including collaborations under his belt with platinum selling, ASCAP award winning producer Harmony Samuels (Ne-Yo, Chris Brown, Ariana Grande, Kelly Rowland), as well as co-writing with the acclaimed Sam Hook who has written for Justin Bieber, Chris Brown and Mary J Blige. Kane is adding to this daily and is currently in the studio with UK Top 40 artist Sneakbo, where the duo have already penned 2 tracks due for release later this year.   

With a refreshing and youthful take on UK R&B, Kane is becoming a very exciting artist. Capturing emotion with a lyrical ability beyond his years there’s also grittiness to Kane that sets him apart from fellow artists giving him an intriguing edge that people are becoming eager to discover.

Citing rap artists such as Wale and other poets such as Joshua Bennett as his inspiration, it’s no wonder that EssoJay has wordplay and storytelling in abundance.

Spotlight - Harmony

So I recently discovered that Fantasia's new album 'Side Effects of You', Chip & Chris Brown's "Champion", Ne-Yo's “Don’t Make ‘Em Like You”, and a bunch of R&B joints....including Michelle Williams' just released ballad "If We Had Your Eyes", all have one thing in common - Harmony Samuels. 

The dope Tottenham, North London born producer is making a big impact on both sides of the pond with production credits on recent albums from some major R&B acts, including Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo, Keyshia Cole, and Brandy. 

Harmony ‘s ambition to impact the artists he works with and bring greatness out of them is exemplified in the Grammy award winning F.A.M.E album by Chris Brown, which boasts his production credits. And as the hits begin to add up against Harmony’s name, his dedication to hard work and music continue to grow. 

This year has already seen Fantasia’s album ‘Side Effects’ come in at number 1 on the Billboard R&B charts and number 2 on the Billboard Hot 200. Fantasia’s new single ‘Without Me’ ft Kelly Rowland and Missy Elliott is also due for release during Summer. Next up is the recently released ‘Gone’ by Kelly Rowland ft Wiz Khalifa which is destined for great things and will no doubt breed similar success; and to whom do we give credit to for producing all of the aforementioned? Why Harmony of course!

This is something that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the American Society of Composers and Publishers as Harmony’s individual success has been recognised and will be rewarded his first ASCAP Award on June 27th, an award fitting to one of the most talented producers to hail from the UK.
