On Repeat - Lil Wayne Ft. Gunplay: Beat The Shit

I haven't fully digested I Am Not A Human Being II, but I have definitely been rocking out to this banging jam from Lil Wayne and Gunplay.

On Repeat - The 1975: Chocolate

Haven't had an On Repeat entry in a while. Well i've had two tracks on repeat recently. Rather different genres.

First up is Chocolate by British indie band The 1975. Never heard of them before and was introduced via the Top 40 UK chart. The catchy song appears on their current EP Music For Cars.

On Repeat - BenZel & Jessie Ware: If You Love Me

Currently in love with this smooth jam from Japanese (now New York based) production duo BenZel and SOD fave Jessie Ware.
Hmmm I still haven't done a Jessie Ware Spotlight...coming soon.

On Repeat - Kendrick Lamar: Good Kid

Currently bumping Kendrick's good kid, m.A.A.d city, and this is one of my favourite previously unheard (by me) cuts. Dope production by The Neptunes. Feeling it.

Props to soulculture.

On Repeat - Josh Osho: Call My Name

I like this. UK crooner Josh Osho turns Cheryl Cole's poppy jam into a mellow acoustic joint. Compare with the original HERE.
The track appears on his new EP The John Doe EP, which you can download HERE.

On Repeat - Fuse ODG: Antenna

Fuse ODG is at it again! He first gave us the huge jam "Azonto" with the unofficial youtube video that taught some of us how to do the Azonto dance, and now hes back with another infecteous joint. And yes theres another unofficial video (I believe this is for a dance competition).
This time around we have some suited guys showing us some new azonto (antenna?) moves. Fun stuff. Check it out.

On Repeat - Elle Varner: Not Tonight

Feeling this raw, powerful ballad from Elle Varner. On Not Tonight Elle sings about her inability to share her feelings toward a man who has her eye.
You can walk up to me anytime Elle ;-)

Her debut album perfectly imperfect is out now.

On Repeat - Telephoned's Usher, J Lo, 50 Cent & Amerie Covers

If you've been in my car recently then you won't be surprised with this entry...Yes I know what the odds of being in my car recently are, but still... Lol.

I had never heard of Fool’s Gold artists Telephoned before coming across them over at pigeons&planes, but now i'm a fan. The Brooklyn-based duo is comprised of vocalist Maggie Horn and DJ/producer Sammy Bananas. They took some early 00's Urban favourites, and mixed them with some Clams Casino instrumentals, resulting in some very dope cool joints on the U Don't Have To Call EP.

We have Usher's "U Don't Have To Call," Amerie's "One Thing", J. Lo's "I'm Real," and 50 Cent's "21 Questions". Feeling them all. Perfect for cruising.

Listen and download them below.

Props to p&p

Dope joint from Voli and J Cole. Feeling it.
On Sound Of  Love Voli and J Cole share production credits, and sample Finnish electro band Husky Rescue’s song of the same name. Feeling the retro and rock vibe.

On Repeat - Trails and Ways: Nunca

Feeling this warm 'Summer road trippy' track from Trails and Ways. The band hails from Oakland California, but made this song while living in Brazil. You do kind of get a Brazilian sea side flavour in Nunca.
Don't really know much else about  Trails and Ways  (can't find a proper profile), but I discovered this over at P&P.

Putting this on my holiday playlist. Ideal for chilling and sipping on a Mojito on an exotic beach....Yes if I dream it then it just might happen no?

On Repeat - Les Misérables: I Dreamed A Dream

Just because i'm in that kind of mood. I have not watched the stage play Les Misérables, but Anne Hathaway's rendition of I Dreamed A Dream in the trailer for the upcoming movie resonated with me, and I had to hear the full original. I was listening to it shortly before I heard about the plane crash. Its not exactly fitting in terms of lyrics but...it kinda is.
Lyrics after the cut.

On Repeat - Labrinth Ft. Tinchy Stryder & Devlin: Up In Flames

So i'm still jamming to Labrinth's Electronic Earth. I really like the eclectic sound. Well as i've over played the usual suspects, i have now moved on to other tracks, and this grime and dubstep infused joint is working for me right now.
Labrinth teams up with UK MCs Tinchy Stryder and Devlin on the 'messy' Up In Flames. Ok so a google search tells me this hit the net in 2010...Well I discovered it on the album so *shrug* enjoy if its new to you.
Yeah i'm a Lab stan, deal with it. Lol.

On Repeat - Py: Lungs

This is my first time coming across UK songstress Py, and i'm sure it won't be my last. Feeling her sultry voice laced over a dope George FitzGerald beat, on the enchanting Lungs.

On Repeat - How To Dress Well: Ocean Floor For Everything

Its a rainy public holiday morning here in Lagos, which means 'Lazy morning in bed'. I'm in an Indie kind of mood right now, and this song by How to Dress Well is rather fitting. Its ethereal and haunting in parts, and generally beautiful to me.
How To Dress Well, real name Tom Krell, is an experimental pop producer and singer from Brooklyn. Props to pigeons&planes for the discovery. Check out their  '10 Free Songs You Should Download Right Now' (where I discovered this) here.

This is for you...
