Spotlight - Katy B

We have a double feature today...

With her feet placed firmly in multiple genres (Dubstep, Funky house, R&B, Garage), Katy B has had a good year so far! Real name Kathleen "Katie" Brien, Katy B, is a British singer-songwriter and a graduate of the BRIT school. She has also been nominated for the prestigious 2011 Mercury Prize.

Katy B won me over with her third single 'Broken Record', with her somewhat chilled voice over an uptempo dubstep bassline resulting in an urban love song. Another favourite is her totally funky house 'Why you always here'. Her music wouldn't sound out of place on a friday evening out at Reeds.

Her album 'On a Mission' is out now; and you can find out more about her here.
Check out some of her tracks below, and the video for Broken record is after the cut.
